Full Time Equipment Operator

The Corporation of the Township of Mulmur invites applications for:

FULL TIME EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Reporting to the Public Works Foreperson, this position requires the ability to operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, grader, loader, backhoe, tractor, and snowplow as well as perform manual work. The successful applicant must be able to work flexible hours, winter shifts and call-ins as needed.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A valid DZ driver’s license (AZ preferred) with a clean driver’s abstract
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience operating the following equipment
  • Grader with snowplow equipment
  • Wheel Loader/Backhoe
  • Dump Truck with snowplow/sander combination
  • Able to respond to emergency call-ins within a reasonable timeframe
  • Experience in road maintenance and construction
  • Strong teamwork skills

This position offers a competitive hourly wage range from $30.23 to $34.03, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes participation in the OMERS pension plan. The role is based on a 40-hour work week and requires availability for overtime and non-standard hours to support routine road maintenance and response to emergencies. Participation in an on-call rotation is also required.

Volunteer Firefighters

We are recruiting Volunteer Firefighters!

The Mulmur-Melancthon Fire Department is a rural Volunteer Fire Department operating out of the hamlet of Honeywood in Mulmur, Ontario servicing approximately 800378315397_697275935768747_70810446920938 households with approximately 27 active volunteer fire fighters.

Reporting to the Volunteer Fire Chief and the Volunteer Deputy Fire Chief as a Volunteer Firefighter you must:

  • Be a minimum 18 years of age
  • Reside or work near the Fire Station located at 706166 County Rd 21, Honeywood
  • Hold a G class driver’s license and ability to obtain DZ license within 1 year of hire date
  • Previous fire and medical training an asset but not required
  • Must provide clean drivers abstract prior to job offer
  • Applicants with daytime/midweek availability for emergency calls will be considered an asset
  • Vulnerable sector criminal record check must be provided prior to employment offer
