Administrative Assistant (one year contract)
The Township of Mulmur invites applications for the position of
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
(One Year Contract)
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for all departments.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide customer service by responding to all incoming phone calls, emails as well as greeting and assisting all visitors.
- Perform general office duties including typing, filing, photocopying, scanning, labelling, processing incoming and outgoing mail, updating contact lists, etc.
- Maintain records, filing systems, property roll files and general office correspondence.
- Accept and process cash receipts, issue dog tags, garbage stickers and compost bins.
- Assist the planning department with building permits and assessment tracking.
- Track entrance permits, send reminder letters for upcoming expiration dates and issue refunds.
- Assist managers, coordinate meetings, set-up and clean-up for meetings.
- Coordinate the repair and maintenance of office equipment and the administrative building.
- Assist with Treasury functions as assigned.
- Maintain and order office supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the general office areas.
To meet the requirements of this position, the successful candidate will have the following:
- High-school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro.
- Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Full-Time Equipment Operator
Reporting to the Public Works Foreperson, this position requires the ability to operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, grader, loader, backhoe, tractor, and snowplow as well as perform manual work. The successful applicant must be able to work flexible hours, winter shifts and call-ins as needed.
The preferred candidate will have:
- A valid DZ driver’s license (AZ preferred) with a clean driver’s abstract
- 3 to 5 years’ experience operating the following equipment
- Grader with snowplow equipment
- Wheel Loader/Backhoe
- Dump Truck with snowplow/sander combination
- Able to respond to emergency call-ins within a reasonable timeframe
- Experience in road maintenance and construction
- Strong teamwork skills
