Total Fire Ban in Effect

Created on July 15, 2026

Due to the extreme dry conditions and poor air quality affecting our region, the Dufferin County Fire Chiefs have implemented a total fire ban effective immediately.

As a result, no open-air burning of any kind is permitted during this ban, including campfires, burn barrels, brush burning, and recreational fires.

Fire officials are closely monitoring weather conditions, air quality, and fire risk levels on an ongoing basis. The ban will remain in effect until conditions improve and it is safe to resume outdoor burning activities.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to protect our communities, property, and emergency responders from the increased risk of fire.

Please share this notice and help keep Dufferin County safe.
