State of Emergency Lifted in the Township of Mulmur

Mulmur, ON — The Township of Mulmur lifted the State of Emergency declared on Wednesday, April 3, following significant damage caused by the recent ice storm, severe weather, and widespread power outages.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of emergency response team and dedicated community volunteers, wellness checks were conducted to ensure the safety of all affected residents. Power restoration efforts are ongoing, and the Township continues to closely monitor the situation.

Although the State of Emergency has ended, the Township Office remains open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering charging stations, as well as access to food, water, and firewood. Unique needs should be shared with the Township to see how they may be addressed or connected to other agencies for support. Residents are encouraged to contact the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) regarding financial assistance for home and business damage on private property.

Residents are encouraged to run their taps once power is restored and to test their water for safety. Free water testing kits are available at the Township Office.
