Mulmur's Christmas Display Contest
Be a part of our Christmas Display Contest and help spread the holiday spirit throughout Mulmur.
Whether it is your home, your business, your school, church or club let's light up Mulmur this holiday season.
- Entries must be located in Township of Mulmur.
- You can decorate your home or your property entrance, but display must be visible from the road.
- Use of LEDs light are encouraged
- Entry Deadline: December 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm
Top three locations are selected by a judge’s panel between December 17-19, 2023.
- Winners will be notified on or before December 20, 2023
- Displays must be family friendly. Be creative, be festive, have fun!
- Judging Criteria: First Impression, Originality and Design
- Top three winners will have a donation made in their name to their favourite local (within Dufferin County) charity.
- All photos will be shared throughout the judging period on the Townships Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Mulmur Christmas Display Contest Rules
Eligibility:
The campaign is open to all locations within the Township of Mulmur boundaries (businesses, community facilities and residences), the applicant who completes and submits the application must that have reached the age of majority and be an official representative of the location or the owner. Incomplete or illegible entries will not be accepted and will be disqualified. To qualify, your holiday display must include decorations in your yard or your entrance, such as music, yard ornaments, etc. You may do your own decorating or have a company, friends, and/or relatives help with the decorating. You must abide by all applicable county and/or municipal by-laws, and respect your neighbours’ property boundaries and light pollution.
Enter the contest by submitting an application to the Township Office online or delivered to the Township Office, 758070 2nd Line East, anytime between November 14 and December 17. The winner will be contacted by email or telephone on or before December 20 by The Township of.
Judging:
A panel of judges will judge each entry address from the street/road between December 17, 18, and 19, 2023, so your lights must be on during that entire time period on all three evenings. Judging will be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street only. Therefore only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from both streets). Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards. Judges will be asked to rate displays on three (3) areas: First Impression, Originality and Design
Prizes:
Prizes will be given for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place.
Release:
Participants agree to have one or more photos of their decorated location exterior posted on Town publications and communication channels. Participants agree there will be no compensation of any kind for said posting or publication. Participants will be required to sign a declaration of eligibility and release form releasing the Sponsors and its respective related parties from any and all liability in connection with the campaign and/or the prize, confirming compliance with the rules and consenting to the use of his or her name and photograph, in any and all forms of media, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Sponsors and/or their advertising and promotional agencies.
Privacy:
The Township may use your personal contact information to administer this campaign, including contacting, announcing and promoting the prize winner.
The Township is not liable for any lost, late, misdirected or stolen entries or inability to process entries, or any errors, damage or negligence that may arise in connection with this campaign, including technical failures on the part of campaign software, virus, website down-time, human error or property damage incurred by any campaign entrant. The Sponsors are not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest. If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed to be ineligible. Authorized account holder is the natural person whose name is on the back of the receipt.
