The Much Anticipated Authors in the Hills of Mulmur Returns Sunday, August 10
Sunday August 10 the Hills of Mulmur will be alive with the sound of laughter, camaraderie, tasty treats and best of all, three gripping Canadian authors, moderated by super interviewer Bernadette Hardaker.
The brainchild of Mulmur mayor, Janet Horner, Authors in Mulmur, is now a literary 'sense of occasion', with tickets selling out early. Taking place in the beautiful Foley barn, Sideroad 10, Mulmur, this annual event is a collaboration between the Township of Mulmur, Shelburne Public Library, BookLore and hard-working volunteers.
Billed as an afternoon of history, mystery and mayhem, BookLore owner, Nancy Frater, says “it's a cutting-edge lineup”.
- History: For fans of historical fiction, Kath Jonathan examines the little-known story of Poland's extraordinary WW ll resistance army and the contemporary lives of two artists, grandmother and granddaughter, inextricably linked by a wartime betrayal. Her novel The Resistance Painter has garnered reviews of “immersive, heart-wrenching but hopeful; not to be missed.” Kath is a former educator, poet, short story and novel writer.
- Mystery: Returning by popular demand, Bianca Marais, the author of Hum if you Don't the Words; If you Want to Make God Laugh and The Witches of Moonshyne Manor addresses the question of how you solve a murder that hasn't happened yet. A Most Puzzling Murder is an interactive, quirky, locked-room murder mystery. Novelist Nita Prose calls it “Filled with conundrums, murder most foul, and more spells than you can shake a stick at, this original novel is a puzzler's delight.”
- Mayhem: Former tv producer Sue Hincenbergs brings a comic novel overflowing with wicked, murderous fun in The Retirement Plan. In order to collect on their husband's life insurance policies, three middle-aged friends turn to murder – unaware that their husbands have a devious plan of their own. Crime Time says “think Richard Osman, mischievous, elderly pensioners meets Bad Sisters and Desperate Housewives... the shenanigans move fast and furiously.”
